In addition to presenting a global view about the architecture of the human body to our students from the level of molecules to the level of organ systems, we always teach morphological sciences with a strong emphasis on functional and clinical correlations. The Department’s commitment is to train and educate the next generation of doctors, health professionals and scientists who will be able to meet the challenges of the twenty first century in all areas of health care and life sciences.
The Department has always been and still is a research oriented unit of the University of Debrecen. Our research activities are based on a solid background established by our excellent and internationally recognized predecessors. Following their footsteps, we intend to conduct cutting edge research and explore new territories in the fields of cell and tissue biology, developmental biology and neurosciences. The individual state of the art laboratories within the Department benefit greatly from close interactions and collaborations with colleagues working close to each other on related topics. This enables a strong interdisciplinary approach, which is coupled to an atmosphere rich in enthusiasm, sense of free inquire and passion for scientific discovery.
